Who We Are

Sepak Takraw Seattle is a community of people that enjoy playing takraw in Washington State. We encourage everyone to come join us, regardless of skill level and experience.

Ranging from all ages and cultural backgrounds, Sepak Takraw Seattle guarantees a good time, new relationships and bruised feet.

With time, we believe that everyone can improve their skills in Sepak Takraw and most importantly, meet and create new bonds through the sport.

Our goal is to create a place where people can fellowship and hangout while playing our favorite sport.

Origins

Visiting Thailand for the first time, Kendrick Mangmati saw a takraw ball for the first time. Only seeing takraw on Youtube, Kendrick was inspired to bring the ball back to the United States, where the sport is barely known. Initially, Kendrick struggled hard with the mere basics, but that motivated him even more to try to get better. Having help from his dad, Ted Mangmati, who played Sepak Takraw at a college level in Thailand, Kendrick and Ted played almost everyday. Soon enough, they started inviting other people to come play Sepak Takraw at nearby parks, where a small community of takraw lovers was established.
